Wow school was awesome! Im taking a Sign Language Class, and my first impression was, "well this will be kind of easy". WRONG! Turns out my teacher is Deaf and speaks nothing! And to make things even more interesting we will have no Interpreters. So I am sure that this semester will be challenging. You cannot believe how much can be told just by your expressions alone. One day you should try to challenge yourself. Either use the hand you never use, take for instance if you are right handed one day start using your left hand for EVERYTHING!
This is not as extreme as to stop talking at all. But it will give you an idea of how accustomed we have become with what seems ordinary to us. In addition to the communication barrier, we cannot ever talk in class. We can only communicate through Signing! I have only started to imagine how it is like. I would recommend any reasonable and conscious human being to at least try this class once in their life. It really is something that will open your mind.
