So today I was coming back from school driving my brothers '73 Chevrolet Cheyenne. The vehicle is a beast, its got a modified engine and whatnot, so I finally got to drive the motherfucker. Okay, step back; i am going to start from the morning. He had no other choice but to let me drive it because nobody was going to be around to give me a ride (which i normally prefer, I don't like driving much). So I get to school and its a great ride, I feel like a bad ass. So schools out, i am driving home and I get on the left lane; its packed, long line in the light for a turn to the left. So me thinking, "Ahh fuck it ill go on the right side and wait for the line" No car is coming so I hit right blinker and I proceed to change lanes. I do great, I just forget to stop turning and eventually ride up on to the damn curb and on top of the grass. Shit scared me! I jumped; I swear I saw my life flash in front of me!
Which brings me to the discussion of today; Driving.
One thing I cannot understand, why in the hell do people drive like maniacs?
You've seen them; maybe its you? Maybe its a loved one, but we all know them. People that are riding up in your ass on their way to school or work or something of the likes. So, you, like the good person that you are, (HA most of us) you let them pass; you move onto the right lane. Or maybe you are in the right lane and the crazy bastard just speeds away past you in the left lane. Then you get a light, and there they are!
Same place as before, and sometimes you are in front of them. So what I don't get is why so much reckless behavior, only to end up in the exact same position.
If only these people could apply what they learn in Algebra and basic Physics.
These laws, theories DO apply in real life, they are not some evil experiment to make you repeat the tenth grade, NO.
In math we always get the problems; if a train is traveling at a constant speed... Whatever, you get the idea. Or say in physics, Newtons Laws of Motion; these things also apply!
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to discover the fact that if you drive at a constant speed; considering stop signs and whatnot, you will still get to the desired location. Its not like you will enter into some warp hole and end up in Alaska!
So like we have heard, take your time, leave before time, drive safe and don not lose your cool! You will still get there!
Unless of course you get killed on your way, say your brakes go out and you crash against a tree and you fucking die. Then in that case, you're dead! And good for you! Because now you don't have to worry about anything, you lucky bastard!
PLEASE COMMENT, share any experiences you have had that pertain to driving.
Ahh Driving...so much experience I have had with this. Sorry to say but I WAS one of those reckless drivers. I was what i call now a "speed racer" lol. But hey my only defense to driving like that is that i was young. I started driving at 14 (illegally of course), and at 18 legally so by the time i had my license i felt i was king of the road but that throne was taken off quickly when i learned that 4 speeding tickets dont help lower your insurance lol, i had to learn the hard way. Any ways, there is too many people out there that cant drive for shit. I have so many experiences with those reckless drivers especially when im driving my bi-weekly trip from Las Vegas to Southern California. The usual crazy driver that even if you are going 80mph they trying to pass you up or get really close. Sometimes I just have fun with these people and speed up when they try to pass me on the right lane, hey its some sort of entertainment on the road where there isn't much to see but dirt and hills. I have gotten to a point where I just ignore those drivers and let them drive how they want. But I hate stupid drivers more than reckless drivers...
ReplyDeletehaha really? you have to go from Las Vegas to Cali every two weeks? That sucks dude.
ReplyDeleteYup thats my usual drive. Honestly its not that bad. I can do that drive with my eyes closed now (not literally obviously lol). Buts its only about 3 hrs. Ive been doing it since about 3 years ago.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I'm surprised you didn't mention how women are horrible drivers and all that sexist shit.. nice post though, now I'll be more careful while driving :/ and actually take into consideration the other drivers around me hehe
ReplyDeletelol daamnn haber one time i remember k we were going to school and the roads were covered in snow and ice soo my mom tried to go as slow as possible but then con un pisoton del freno we spun twice and almost hit a freaking pole...it was SUPER scary...i think k ppl should be given a brief lesson of how to drive on icy roads ><
ReplyDeletewell i guess i am that wreckless driver. Like beto said i started driving illegally since i was 14 :/ and yeah i still at times feel like a badass. im not that wreckless but i do like to drive fast..idk stoppin and goin kinda pisses me off and what not.
ReplyDeleteDecember of last year, i had to drive to rutgers to take my chem final nd that was when the east coast had that bad ass snowstorm and yeah i almost died twice ;( i spun out the first time but luckily there was like 5 cars on the road..thats how bad it was. the second time i saw the car infront of me spin out haha..nd i felt so helpless because i was just watchin him spin out..nd if i pressed the brakes..i woulda spun out too ;( so i was kinda just bracing myself :/
